Captain Jeff, the owner of Cape May Whale Watcher, set out to get a summer job in the summer of 1973, and never looked back! This family business has grown to include a team of up to twenty crew members and you could be the next to join us aboard the ship.
This is a marine position which includes upkeep of all vessels and related equipment in accordance with the Captain’s instructions. Most job responsibilities require little or no previous skills and can easily be learned. Required to hose, buff, swab, sweep, and scrub the vessel as well as monitor passengers for safety. This position is required to work safely and efficiently in accordance with instructions, general operating practices, and procedures.
Work schedules can be modified to fit the demands of the tourist season and most likely will require evenings and weekends in the high demand periods.
Work is performed indoors/outdoors and can be in any weather condition.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Proper cleaning of vessel’s bathrooms
-Trash removal
-Cleaning and polishing surfaces/windows
-Provides the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all customers
-Contributes to the safe operation of vessels and equipment
-Responds decisively and effectively to emergency situations
Requirements
-Possess excellent customer service skills
-Ability to understand relevant policies and procedures and safety techniques
-Ability to provide superior customer service to everyone by responding in a courteous and efficient manner
- Heavy lifting of items from ropes, ramps, catering items, stock items etc
-Must be at least 16 years old
-Subject to a background investigation
-Subject to a pre-employment physical and regulatory drug testing
