Our Fleet

The length of the Cape May Whale Watcher- registered by the United States Coast Guard is 85.7 ft, making her longer than all three of our competitors vessels. Her beam, larger by four feet. Add on the bow pulpit and the stern platform, and you have a 110 foot long beast of a boat. Size means comfort, both in small and large seas. Bigger boat means less seasickness. Bigger Boat means more amenities like, large restrooms upstairs and downstairs, handicap accessibility on the lower deck with no door sills, large aisles, heated and air conditioned cabins, ample seating, hot and cold food at the snack bar- Ice Cream, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Beer and Wine, Fountain Soda, Chips and Crackers and Candy and more. More space and amenities means more value.

Speed can mean the difference between 5 minutes of viewing and a half an hour or more of viewing.

Prior to 1993, if you went whale and dolphin watching in New Jersey and did not see anything, you were told "too bad, should have been here yesterday." In 1993, we started our quest in better Customer Service by offering the first Marine Mammals Sightings Guaranteed in the state of NJ. If we do not sight marine mammals (whales or dolphins or porpoise) we offer a free pass for another trip in the future. Unlike our competitors- we have plenty of space and have never turned away a free pass, our free pass never expires, and we do not believe in one dolphin "getting us off the hook (for the Guarantee)."

Jeff Stewart believes that if he did not have a good trip- how could you have had a good trip.

So, since 1993, our policy has been there is no such thing as getting off the hook for our guarantee. We look for the largest possible group of dolphins or the most whales in an area and maximize your time on the best possible sightings we have available to us on a trip by trip basis. The best guarantee means the best value.

Since 1993, Jeff Stewart has remained committed to you, the customers. With over a half million satisfied customers, we continue to improve, change and evolve our business to better serve you. Our new dinner cruise boat, the 110 foot long Spirit of Cape May has become the current Cape May Whale Watcher and the new benchmark by which all other boats in the area strive for. Other new additions to the fleet include the Miss Chris, a 75ft Offshore Fishing Vessel, the all new 120 foot Atlantis, the 41ft Water Lilly, the 26ft Calypso and the 17ft Whaler. All of us at the Cape May Whale Watcher Fleet look forward to serving you in the future and providing a safe and fun experience on the water for you and your family.

The largest and the fastest boat with the Marine Mammal Sighting Guarantee. Good Sense for your next family adventure....

The Spirit of Cape May

The Cape May Whale Watcher is the 110 foot long queen of the Cape May Fleet. This all new vessel was reconstructed specifically for Whale/Dolphin Watching as well as Dinner Cruises and parties. The vessel is over 110 feet in length, 28 feet in width, has two large decks, cabin seating for 100, and a capacity of 405 passengers. The Cabin has a large bar area, air conditioning and heating for operations in all weather. Favorite areas on the boat include her bow (front) observation platform and the massive upper deck. She is powered by three large 700 HP Cummins Marine Diesels and Detroit Diesel Generators for Electric, also all made in the USA.
